The Ekiti State Qualifier of Nigeria Spelling Bee for the 2019 Season has just been concluded.

The contest saw students compete to be the best Spellers who will represent the State at subsequent levels of the competition.

The Spellers who will move to the Regional include the following students in the Junior Category:

  • Christopher Toluwase of Greater Tomorrow Model College Ekiti.
  • God’s Favour Ogunrinde of Shepherd International College, Ekiti
  • Adewumi Esther of Glory International Secondary School, Igbara-Odo

In the senior category, we have:

  • Promise O. Oke of Greater Tomorrow Model College Ado-Ekiti
  • Chioma P. Dunu of Mater Christi Girls High School Igede
  • Fabamise Machrist of Petoa City College Ado-Ekiti
  • Ogunleye Esther of St. Lawrence Group of Schools Ado-Ekiti

These Spellers will go on to meet other contestants vying for the ₦1,000,000 scholarship prize (Senior) or the ₦100,000 cash prize (Juniors) and an all-expenses-paid trip to represent Nigeria at the African Spelling Bee 2019.

We want to especially appreciate Petoa City College Ado-Ekiti for providing a suitable environment for the competition. Our thanks also go to all participating schools, parents and teachers who have worked to prepare the Spellers for the contest.

The competition continues across the country with Kwara State Qualifier coming up on 13th of October.
