The “Food Basket of the Nation” -Benue State- has produced its Best State Spellers at the Nigeria Spelling Bee, Benue State Level contest.
The competition was conducted on the 16th of May 2022 at Princess Adeja International College Gboko which played host to the statewide contest.
At the conclusion of the day’s contest, Tyokua Wueseter Cynthia of Princess Adeja International College, Gboko emerged the Best Junior Speller while Nongo Nancy Nguevese of Unique Secondary School Maka clinched the Best Senior Speller slot.
These spellers will progress to represent the state at the National Finals of the Nigeria Spelling Bee slated for the 3rd-7th of August 2022 at Divine Rays British Schools Obosi-Onitsha, where they stand a chance to win up to N1,000,000 / N500,000 scholarships for Senior and Junior categories respectively.
National Finalists also have an opportunity to represent Nigeria at the African Spelling Bee continental competition in Malawi.
