Spelling Bee champions from the six South-western states today converged for the Regional Level Competition for a chance to emerge as the National Finalists to represent their respective schools, states and the entire region at the 2019 National Finals of the Nigeria Spelling Bee competition.

It is noteworthy to state that a speller from this region jointly holds the Junior African Spelling Bee Championship title with another speller from the South-East Region.

After an exciting brief contest, these spellers emerged as the best spellers in the South-West:

Abubakar Amidat Olaoluwa of Montclair College Ogun State

Akintunde Victoria Moren of Community Senior Secondary School, Ojo Lagos State

Bassey Emmanuella Pascal of Cedar Mathetein College, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Idowu Eniola Grace of Montclair College Ogun State

Idowu Racheal Gloria of Montclair College Ogun State

Moyinlorun A. Treasure of Model Secondary School Oba-Ile,  Ondo State

Oduntola Oluwafemi Dolapo of Montclair College Ogun State

Peter Onyekachi of Best-Brain College, Basorun, Oya State.

Sanya-Adefisan Oluwatunmise of Mabest Academy Akure, Ondo State.

Simon Ayobami of Montclair College Ogun State

These Spellers and other National Finalists from other regions will converge at Ritman University Ikot-Ekpene for a 4day period culminating to the 2019 Grand Finale on the 27th of July.

Special appreciation goes to the Regional Level Host, Mabest Academy Akure, Ondo State for providing an excellent environment for the conduct of the Nigeria Spelling Bee and hosting out-of-state Spellers.
