Students all over the North West geopolitical region of Nigeria today gathered in Kaduna State for the North-West Regional Level of Nigeria Spelling Bee held at Nigerian Tulip International Colleges, Rigachukun.

The contest was among 82 spellers out of which the spellers will represent the region at the National Finals of the competition scheduled for 21st July at Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Kwara State.

Spellers were asked to spell words from the 3 major Nigerian languages (Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba) at the 1st (non-elimination) round of the contest.

At the end of the contest which lasted 5 rounds, the below-listed contestants emerged as the best

spellers who will contest at the National Finals.

Muadh Mushin Zibiri (332) of Nigeria Tulip International College, Kaduna

These spellers will meet other regional champions during the national event were a National Champion will emerge with a scholarship worth ₦1,000,000. The National 1st and 2nd runners-up will be awarded ₦500,000 and ₦250,000 in scholarships respectively.
