The Nigeria Spelling Bee 2019 Season’s State Qualifier has just been conducted in the “Eastern Heartland” (Imo State) with 8 outstanding students to represent the state at the regional level.

The competition which was conducted in Owerri and hosted by PAC College was a tougher competition at the Junior category than the senior category.

After 4rounds of showcasing their spelling prowess, these students emerged as the best junior spellers in Imo State:

  1. Chinaza Uzoechi of Estate Children’s School, Owerri
  2. David Nwamadi of Broadoak Schools, Owerri
  3. Henry C. Henry of Kiddies Cove Academy, Aladimma, Owerri
  4. Chelsea Opara of Broadoak Schools Owerri

In the senior category, we have the following as the best spellers in the state.

  1. Denzel Ogbonna of Amen International Secondary School, Owerri
  2. Anueyiagu Emmanuel of PAC College, Owerri
  3. Iyanuoluwa Taiwo of Amen International Secondary School, Owerri
  4. Azaka Precious of PAC College, Owerri

These Spellers will progress to the next level of the contest (Regional) where they will meet other state qualifiers from the eastern region and compete for a chance to be one of the National Finalist who have the opportunity to win ₦1,000,000 scholarship (Senior) and ₦100,000 cash for the Junior.
