The first set of National Finalists emerged yesterday at the South-South Regional Level of the Nigeria Spelling Bee.

The Spellers were drawn from the 6 states that make up the South-South Region of Nigeria. These include Rivers, Cross-River, Akwa-Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta and Edo states.

They include:

  • Anyaso O. Laura of Bishop Okoye Spiritan Secondary School, Rivers State
  • Apangideh I. Michael of Ritman College, Ikot-Ekpene, Akwa-Ibom State
  • Bryan O. George of Surebloom Int’l School, Port Harcourt, Rivers State
  • Ebikpoja C. Oghele of Deeper Life High School, Benin Campus, Edo State
  • Obembe E. David of Deeper Life High School, Yenagoa Campus, Bayelsa State
  • Odibe C. Emmanuel of The Nobles Oxford Academy, Port Harcourt, Rivers State
  • Osiohwo P. Oghenekevwe of Deeper Life High School, Delta Campus, Delta State.
  • Ovuru Nadou of New Total Child Academy, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State
  • Serena Obunse M. of Ladybird Educational Centre, Port Harcourt, Rivers State
  • Tambu B. Lelebari of Sit-up Int’l School, Port-Harcourt, Rivers State
  • Vera T. Stewart of Surebloom Int’l School, Port Harcourt, Rivers State

These National Finalists will represent the region at the National Finals which will take place at Ritman University, Ikot-Ekpene, Akwa-Ibom State.
